I’m about to turn 65
I’ll be 65 soon and need to learn more.
I’ll be 65 soon and need to learn more.
I’m retiring soon and need to learn more about Medicare.
I have Medicare and want to learn more about the plans offered.
Also called Part A, this covers hospitalization, skilled nursing facility care, hospice care and home health care.
You’re eligible for Medicare when:
You’re at least 65 years old, or under 65 and qualify based on disability or other special situation, AND
You’re a U.S. citizen or legal resident, who has lived in the U.S. for at least five consecutive years.
.
Covers your primary care, specialists, outpatient surgery and visits, ambulance transportation, some durable medical equipment, lab work and x-rays.
You can apply for Part B coverage at the same time as Part A, or within other approved enrollment periods.
.
May include extra benefits like prescription drug coverage (also known as Part D), vision, hearing, dental, transportation to medical appointments and access to fitness programs.
Part C goes beyond the basics of Medicare Parts A and B, to provide additional benefits, and is offered through private insurance providers (also known as Medicare Advantage Plans).
.
When my aging parents needed my help with their medical needs, I learned everything I could about Medicare and the programs available. I’m insatiably curious, always wanting to find the answers!
After that, I realized that I could use all this knowledge to help others – and I’ve been doing just that for the past ten years. Now I speak regularly at educational workshops and seminars to senior groups about the how-to’s of applying for and making the most of Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans.
I’m a wife, mother of four and grandmother of six. When I’m not working, I can be found baking pastries, crafting art projects and hosting family gatherings.
I’m also perpetually in search of the best recipe to complete my yearly holiday boxed cookies collection.
If you are turning 65, retiring soon or have Medicare questions – or you have (or need) a great cookie recipe, give me a call!
